That’s the question this 2025 systematic review attempts to answer. All in all, we still aren't certain. In summary of the authors' conclusions, there is limited, low-certainty evidence that a few herbal galactogogues (including Femaltiker®, anise tea, silymarin with galega, moringa, and lettuce syrup) may help milk production in mothers of preterm infants. However, stronger, high-quality studies are needed. Current evidence does not support recommending fenugreek or other herbal galactogogues for this population at this time.
