Barbara recently gave a talk for Illinois WIC titled “The Art of Hand Expression.” Because Barbara had just deeply researched this topic, hand expression, it was time to record a podcast! Nancy and Barbara discuss why and when a family would use hand expression, how it builds confidence, and some of the ins and outs of its workings.
Learning how to hand express can be challenging. It does have a learning curve. As a provider, knowing how to teach it is a must. Barbara explains how she uses the videos below to help parents learn this technique, and how these videos give Barbara confidence in her teaching.
Enjoy!
