Objectives for this course:
- The learner will be able to define implicit bias.
- The learner will be able to identify possible risks of the impact of implicit bias in the role of an IBCLC.
- The learner will be able to identify and utilize strategies to help reduce the impact of implicit bias.
- The learner will be able to explain why understanding your personal implicit biases is important when helping breastfeeding families.
- The learner will be able to identify at least one of their own implicit biases that could impact their work with breastfeeding families.
- The learner will be able to distinguish between accurate and inaccurate breastfeeding medical information on website pages.
- The learner will be able to define and explain the WHO Code to breastfeeding families and why this is important.
- The learner will be able to list four differences between milk sharing and banked human milk.
- The learner will be able to name two situations where mothers may choose to use milk sharing.
