About LactaLearning
“We are educators first, then we fell in love with lactation.”
LactaLearning sprang from the passion and drive of its founders, Barbara Robertson and Nancy Mohrbacher. With a combined 60+ years in the lactation field, Barbara and Nancy joined forces remotely in 2020 at the peak of COVID isolation. While creating interactive online lactation education, a eureka moment occurred when they realized their backgrounds and strengths were complementary. In addition to being an IBCLC and lactation educator, Barbara has a master's degree in curriculum development. Nancy, also an IBCLC, has extensive knowledge of lactation research and international experience in a wide variety of lactation settings. Together, they formed an unbeatable team from which LactaLearning was born.
LactaLearning’s head-and-heart approach emphasizes the importance of communication. A practitioner can be highly knowledgeable, but communicating compassionately and clearly is also a key to effective lactation support. Throughout our training, we emphasize when and why to communicate and how to make those communications impactful, which empowers families.

We achieve this by offering modern, interactive courses and resources that foster the meaningful work of nurturing the bond between parent and nursing baby. In all that we do, we consider heartfelt compassion and practical, authentic knowledge equally important.
